In the years before the Balfour Declaration, a member of the House of Lords asked Chaim Weizman, "Why do you Jews insist on Palestine when there are so many undeveloped countries you could settle in more conveniently?"
Weizman responded: "That is like me asking you why you drove twenty miles to visit your mother last Sunday when there are so many old ladies living on your street."

Today a Jewish kid asked me why we live n love this land when it's so small and there are bigger and more beautiful places.
I used this story to explain.
