...but if you're very hungry...?

Sometime I don't even mind a nice salad, especially on a hot summer day.

so whats the cause/inspiration Etc. for this

Dovid said...

why the stereotypical associations between herb-smokers and love, and steak-eaters and hate?
Yeah, I, too, am curious to know the inspiration.

wires, dovid -
"altishalioti"

Dovid, firstly, the herbs are generally eaten at a repast. Secondly, today's Rambam is about Ben Sorer U'moreh... gluttonous and hating steak eater.

Thirdly, I'm getting worried about my 180. The game are difficult, to say the least. We need to talk.

Yeah. Funny thing is that the games end up being the easy part (because you practice so much) and you're bitten where you don't expect it. Nu. Enough of this on another's blog. Cya in 770.

stam: then ye order a sabra dip from israel (and wait with folded arms)
nemo: u win the prize for randomness.
wires: i ate a fattened ox where there was no love
dovid: whos smokin here? anyhow like i was sayin to wires, i left a home of love and herbs to take part of a differnet kind of meal. one that included fattened oxen perhaps, but was lacking the love. and that made me think of this mishnah. and that makes me ask you why u comment on the stereotypicallness of it all when in fact, this is the source and that was my experience (for further reading, see my 'two girls' post..namely, the last line in parenthesis) o and lastly, nice to have u back. really really nice.
anonymous: yaffeh but davka this time i cared to answer. tough life, aint it?
nemo: u win two prizes for randomness. but u have to give one back cuz its not fair.
wires: i say what was well said and what wasn't. thank you.
dovid: i beg to differ.
the sabra: whats gotten into you that u started responding to peoples comments?
the sabra: didn't we just discuss 'al tishali oti'
the sabra: ye but cmon...
the sabra: hush. ur annoying me. and ur gonna make me not wanna answer ANYTHING anymore.
the sabra: pfff is that a threat?
the sabra HEY! I'm the one asking questions here! (and lower ur tone)*

*to be explained maybe

Better a repast of herbs where there lies no pain, than a fattened ox which has caused me to wake at this unearthly hour...

fjeet - (or anyone)
anything is better than pain...
do not allow it entry.

and chutzpa of that fat ox! (yetzer hora?) (disturbing your shloff!)
but again, dont allow anyone/anything to cause you anything you dont want.(to do?)

THE LIFEBLOOD OF SUCCESSFUL LIVING IS OWNING YOUR CHOICES.
you decide how you want to feel.

One can be happy inside regardless of the outside circumstances, if you find ways to apppreciate what you have, rather than wishing for what you dont have.
Resenting what is or should have been does no one any good.Happiness and success boil down to course managment and mental toughness. This means recognizing that every path has its own pluses and minuses.
(b'shem omroy : book i just read)

ma- and what of things you miss?

poor deported sabra :(. Why can't you have both the ox and the love? Love youuuu and miss youuu and hope you get readmitted to the country asap...

of course its extremely painful, the pain can be so thick and almost physical, it can choke you.
BUT, big BUT, remember that there is a BIG Director running the show, and no real bad ever ever comes from Him. So ultimately not only will it be good, IT IS GOOD now.
and He only does what is best for you.!
imagine if you can, that this will lead to something better....your silver watch was taken from you, only to be replaced with a gold one.

dont know if this was helpful.but sometimes i talk to others while really talking to myself.

(i miss my tatte...he passed on...years ago.)

oops that was for fjeet, (or anyone).

and practically speaking..
which you probably know already, dont dwell on it... ouch too painful.
Put music on and dance,
go for a run on the beach,
bike ride,
take a hike,
fly a kite,
blow bubbles,
go for a swim...
or do whatever you want to.
