v'haishev lev avot el banim

My sister rebuked her 2 year old daughter for some of the mischief she had participated in.
My niece shouted back "lashon hora, mommy! lashon hora!"

(it was cute & funny the first time...the 25th time, its not)

Very cute! :)
I know what you mean about the 25th time, even with my younger brothers (4 and 5 year olds,) they are always saying the cutest things, problem is when they keep on saying it over and over, or when the story is told again and again and again and again...

One has to be very careful about backtalk from small children. It very easily turns into a very bad habit and can lead to a very disrespectful relationship between parent and child. Admittedly the first time may be funny, but as you said, the 25th time isn't.
